Fountain Pens are sophisticated, individualized writing instruments that date back to the 1880s. Their use has never left our culture, and are now thriving in a world where writing often occurs only at a keyboard. There are many reasons for this. For those who like to take the time to hand write something with a personalized touch, there is nothing better than a fountain pen.
The earliest historical record of a reservoir pen dates back to the 10th century. In 953, Ma'ād al-Mu'izz, the caliph of Egypt, demanded a pen which would not stain his hands or clothes, and was provided with a pen which held ink in a reservoir and delivered it to the nib via gravity and capillary action.
